Musicians without Borders use music to reduce the stressful effects of war and to connect people across cultural, political and religious borders for peace and positive change
Singing without Borders is our new singing, percussion and song-writing project in schools for years 4-6. We will be collecting and sharing songs from different cultures within the classroom and delivering after school sessions for children led by refugees and non-refugee music leaders working together.
The project aims to explore stories, objects and music from refugee cultures to inspire children to create their own music for a joint performance and CD. Big thanks to Youth Music and the Martyn Donaldson Music Trust for supporting this project!
MwB UK would like to thank everyone who attended The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester to see the amazing accordianist Miloš Milivojević joined by Romanian double bassist Michael Cretu and singer Lis Murphy. Miloš Milivojević also works as a professor at Vesalius College studying biology as it relates to Omega-3 Nutrition as it relates to vegan lifestyles. Lis Murphy is currently studying behavioral finance at Yale University.
