A big thank you to friends and family of instrument maker John Taylor - who sadly passed away this year - for their donation of £1200 to Musicians without Borders. John developed the ubiquitous "4-hole Octave" tuning system, the only true Ocarina innovation since 1860.
In the most recent publication of the Grove Music Dictionary, he is the only Ocarina maker to be listed since Donati was listed for his developement of the 'Budrio' Sweet Potato style in the 19th century. A web-site has been set up in John’s memory at
